Surya Thapa, a journalist turned real estate agent, has been recognized as one of the MetroTex Association of Realtors’ 40 Under 40. This recognition highlights the achievements of top real estate professionals under the age of 40 in the Texas region. The announcement was made during a special ceremony held at the MetroTex Association of Realtors headquarters in Irving on Tuesday.
Recipients were chosen from more than 100 applicants based on criteria including leadership excellence, community involvement, and 2023 sales data. An awards ceremony honoring the recipients will be held at the MetroTex Association of REALTORS® headquarters on October 18th.
The event was attended by this year’s award recipients, as well as last year’s winners, alongside notable figures such as MetroTex Association of Realtors CEO Justin Landon and President Ashley Gentry. Thapa, who has been an active figure in Nepali journalism, transitioned to a career in real estate three years ago and has since made significant strides in the Dallas area.
Currently working with Vastu Realty, Thapa expressed his gratitude for the recognition, stating that the award has further motivated him to excel in his profession. He extended his thanks to all his clients, well-wishers, and family members, emphasizing that the award inspires him to continue working for the benefit of his clients.
Thapa’s journey began in Kathmandu, where he started his journalism career with ABC FM in 2007 and later joined ABC Television in 2008. In 2010, he moved to the United States and continued his journalism career with White Himal TV in New York. A few years ago, he relocated to Texas and embarked on his new path as a realtor.
