The New York Police Department has been alerted to the disappearance of Manmaya Magar, a 75-year-old Nepali resident of Queens Woodside in New York. She was last seen on Monday morning while dropping off her granddaughter at an elementary school in Sunnyside and has not been located since.
It was reported to police the missing was last seen in the vicinity of 43 Street and Greenpoint Avenue on Monday, February 6 at approximately 0745 hours. The police have launched an investigation but have not obtained any further information as of yet.
The family of Manmaya Magar has made an appeal for help in finding her. According to them, she has been in the USA for only four months and was living with her son and daughter-in-law. The police were notified of her disappearance at around 11:30 am Monday when she did not return home.

Manmaya Magar is said to be unable to speak English and does not carry a mobile phone. She is described as 4’8”, 143lbs, medium build, light complexion, black eyes and black hair. She was last seen wearing maroon jacket, blue pants, gray shoes and a white scarf. Anyone who spots her is urged to contact the police on 1-800-577-8477 or to inform her son Kamal Thapa Magar at 929 801 0992 or her daughter-in-law Jyoti Thapa Magar at 646 643 8075.
‘Anyone with information in regard to this incident is asked to call the NYPD’s Crime Stoppers Hotline at 1-800-577-TIPS (8477) or for Spanish, 1-888-57-PISTA (74782). The public can also submit their tips by logging onto the CrimeStoppers website at https://crimestoppers.nypdonline.org/ or on Twitter @NYPDTips,’ said NYPD.
The Nepalese community in New York has also been requested to assist in the search for Manmaya Magar.
