Nepali American 17-year-old Parijita Bastola has reached the top ten in the American singing competition The Voice. Bastola has managed to secure the position as the top 10 has been selected from the top 13.
Nepalis and others around the world voted to take Parijita to the top ten. She is on John Legend’s team.
She is the first Nepali-American to participate in The Voice competition. The Voice is considered to be the best singing reality show in the world. Even in Nepal, its franchise show ‘The Voice of Nepal’ is very popular.
Parijita Bastola, who lives in Maryland, USA with her mother Bira Tiwari, father Pankaj Bastola, and sister Priyanka, started singing at the age of 4. Two decades ago, the Bastola family came to America from Kathmandu, Nepal. She was born in the USA.
