Miss Nepal North America changes rules to include transgender women

Miss Nepal North America pageant has changed its rules and will allow transgender women to take part in all of its competitions starting in 2022, founder and chief executive officer of the organization Sailesh Shrestha said. While allowing transgender women to participate in various beauty pageants, Miss Nepal North America has also changed its rules to allow transgender women.

Miss Nepal North America is an annual beauty pageant that is run by the United States–based Dreams Universal LLC. It is one of the largest pageants in North America in terms of Media coverage in many countries worldwide. The current Miss Nepal North America is Garima Gyawali who was crowned on August 7, 2021, in Queens, New York.

Miss Nepal North America is a beauty pageant for girls living in the USA and of Nepali origin. It was founded in 2017. The contest’s mission is to honor and recognize talented, cultural, and intelligent young women of Nepali descent in the USA and provide them with a platform to demonstrate their unique talents and passions through a competition that reflects the art, poise, and grace of beauty pageants. Sailesh Shrestha, a Nepali-American, founded the contest show.

The primary mission of this pageant is to promote Nepali art, culture, and fashion, and encourage youth in the glamour field’s international arena. With the motto of ‘Promoting Youths, Promoting Nepal,’ the event also serves as a platform for all the participants to achieve their personal, professional, and philanthropic goals. Miss Nepal North America’s history began in 2017 in the City of New York.

The finale of Miss Nepal North America 2022 is set to take place at the Melrose Ballroom in Queens, New York City City, on August 6. The deadline to apply for Miss Nepal North America is July 8, 2022.

“The main objective is to preserve and promote Nepali art and culture in the United States and involve the second generation. The main objective is to rise above any caste, gender, and religion and include all because of our platform for all,” said Sailesh Shrestha.

Miss Nepal North America contestants must be between 18-27 years old. The constant should never be married and should be a resident of North America of Nepali descent.
