Nepal triumphed over Scotland by five wickets in an ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup League 2 match at Grand Prairie Stadium, Dallas.
After losing the toss, Scotland opted to bat first but struggled, getting bowled out for 154 runs in 41.4 overs. Nepal’s bowlers delivered a stellar performance, with Sandeep Lamichhane taking three wickets.
Karan KC, Sompal Kami, and Gulshan Jha each secured two wickets, while Arif Sheikh contributed one. Mark Watt was Scotland’s top scorer with 34 runs, as the rest of the batting lineup faltered.
In response, Nepal chased down the target comfortably, scoring 157 runs in 29.5 overs. Arif Sheikh led the charge with a solid 51 runs, supported by Kushal Bhurtel and Gulshan Jha, who both added 25 runs, and Asif Sheikh chipped in with 21 runs. For Scotland, Brandon McMullen claimed two wickets, while Brad Currie, Mark Watt, and Jack Jarvis each took one.
Earlier in the series, Nepal had faced a setback against the USA, losing by three wickets, while Scotland had secured a comprehensive ten-wicket victory over the same team in their opening match.
