American Tourist Injured in Tragic Rhino Attack in Nepal

A nature guide lost his life, and two others, including an American tourist, were injured following a rhinoceros attack in the Dalla Community Forest, part of the Bardiya National Park buffer zone.

The incident occurred this morning in Madhuban Municipality-1, where a one-horned rhino charged at the group during a wildlife observation tour.

The deceased, 35-year-old Man Mohan Chaudhary from Thakurbaba Municipality-9, Bardiya district, died instantly, according to Min Thapa, Chairman of Madhuban Municipality, Ward No 1.

The injured include 56-year-old American tourist MC Lyndon Shawn and 58-year-old forest security guard Khinchu Chaudhary. The rhino struck the guide in the abdomen and the tourist in the buttocks.

The American tourist is receiving treatment at Thakurbaba City Hospital, Bhurigaon, with a moderate health condition, while the forest guard’s condition is reported as stable.
