A red-carpet premiere for the new unscripted reality show “The Challengers: Game of Himalayas” was held on May 25th at the AMC Empire 25 Theater in Times Square. The event kicked off with a call to action for climate change awareness, followed by a screening of documentary footage showcasing the journey of the show’s vloggers as they trekked to the base camp of Mount Everest.
The show, now available for purchase on Prime Video in the US, follows eleven social media creators from various countries including the USA, India, Thailand, Philippines, Colombia, and Nepal. This diverse cast includes Ashish Bhatia (India), Biswas Rai (Nepal), Camerawalebhaiya (India), JuanesVelez (Colombia), Kraig Adams (USA), Llukmee (Thailand), MrSteeleFPV (USA), MyMateNate (Thailand), Neesha Khaling (Nepal), Ridergirl Vishakha (India), and Wil Dasovich (Philippines).
Throughout the competition, these “Challengers” will be pushed to their physical and mental limits, with their survival skills put to the test. Cash prizes will be awarded throughout the show, with the top earners ultimately vying for the title of “The Ultimate Challenger” and a grand prize of $100,000 by summiting Kalapatthar. Hosted by the well-known Indian media personality Nikhil Chinapa, the show promises a raw and unfiltered look at the beauty and challenges of the Everest region.
The eleven vloggers, boasting a collective social media following of over 40 million, are expected to play a key role in promoting the Himalayas and Nepal as a tourist destination. The premiere event was co-hosted by the Great Nepali Diaspora, a non-profit organization representing Nepali professionals around the world.
