Great news for those who entered the Diversity Visa Lottery (DV-2025)! Results were released today at noon Eastern Time. However, there’s some relief for those who misplaced their confirmation numbers, a crucial step to check their application status.
Normally, applicants need to visit the official DV website and enter their confirmation number along with their last name and birth year. This lets them know if they’ve been selected.
The U.S. government understands that losing track of confirmation numbers happens, so they’ve provided a solution. Starting today, applicants can retrieve lost numbers using their name, birth date, and the email address used during application.
The DV results page has a special “Forgot Confirmation Number” link. Click it, select program year 2025, and enter your details.
Once you have your confirmation number (or if you already had it), head back to the main page and check your status. The system will tell you if you’ve been selected and provide further instructions if applicable.
This new feature ensures everyone gets a fair shot at checking their results and moving forward in the DV process, even if they misplaced that important number.
