Hans Raj Joshi Takes the Helm as President of Rotary Club of New York Queens

The Rotary Club of New York Queens held an installation ceremony at the United Sherpa Association (Sherpa Kyidug) in Jackson Heights, New York City in the presence of District Governor Thomas J. Crowley, immediate past District Governor Sonia Saleh, New York City Public Advocate Jumaane Williams, former City Council member Hiram Monserrate, and other community members and guests.

The ceremony commenced with a warm welcome from President-elect Arbin Poudel. Poudel eloquently expressed his gratitude for the incoming and outgoing presidents.

A highlight of the ceremony was the installation of the new President, Hans Raj Joshi, by District Governor Thomas J. Crowley. With a firm handshake and words of encouragement, Crowley symbolically transferred the leadership mantle to Joshi, entrusting him with the responsibility of carrying forward the club’s vision. In his address, Crowley congratulated Joshi on his new role and expressed his confidence in his ability to lead the club towards a successful tenure.

Public Advocate Jumaane Williams presented citations to esteemed social activists for their outstanding contributions to the community. Williams’ recognition of these individuals highlighted the Rotary Club of New York Queens’ commitment to acknowledging and honoring those who make a positive difference in the lives of others.

Outgoing President  Guru Data Parajuli shared insights from his term, highlighting the milestones achieved under his leadership.

Past Presidents Nabaraj KC and Kham Bhata took the stage to underscore the significance of the Rotary Club’s existence. Their speeches emphasized the need for continued support to achieve sustainable change.

To add a touch of cultural splendor to the event, captivating dance performances took place during the installation ceremony. The stage came alive with the extraordinary talent of Dinesh Sunar, a 15-time Guinness World Record holder, whose mesmerizing display left the audience spellbound.

The fusion of traditional and contemporary elements showcased the diversity and richness of culture within the community.
