The U.S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS) has announced the immediate termination of four FEMA employees for making unauthorized payments for luxury hotel accommodations in New York City for migrants. The firings include FEMA’s Chief Financial Officer, two program analysts, and a grant specialist.

A spokesperson from DHS confirmed that the individuals circumvented FEMA leadership, making unilateral decisions that led to egregious payments for high-end hotel stays for migrants, which violated protocol and budget guidelines. The spokesperson emphasized that such actions would not be tolerated under the leadership of President Donald Trump and Secretary Kristi Noem.

“Effective immediately, FEMA is terminating the employment of four individuals for circumventing leadership to unilaterally make egregious payments for luxury NYC hotels for migrants. The firings include FEMA’s Chief Financial Officer, two program analysts, and a grant specialist,” the spokesperson stated. “Under President Trump and Secretary Noem’s leadership, DHS will not sit idly by and allow deep state activists to undermine the will and safety of the American people.”

The terminations come amid ongoing scrutiny of government spending on migrant-related services, with DHS vowing to hold accountable those who take actions that conflict with its policies and priorities.
