An 18-year-old Nepali-origin student, Subee KC, tragically lost her life in a car accident on Tuesday afternoon in Maryland. The accident occurred around 2:25 PM on MD-26 near Walkersville. Subee, driving a 2024 Tesla Model Y, crossed the center line and collided with a pickup truck. She was pronounced dead shortly after 3 PM.
Subee was a first-year student at Hood College Maryland, having recently graduated from Baltimore Polytechnic Institute. She aspired to pursue a career in healthcare and was returning to college after Thanksgiving break when the accident happened.
Before leaving, Subi hugged her parents, promising to reunite during the winter holidays. Her sudden passing has left her family and the Nepali community in deep shock and grief.

To support her family, Nepali nonprofit organizations in Maryland have launched a GoFundMe campaign to help with funeral expenses.
The campaign statement reads: “Subee dreamed of a career in healthcare. Her untimely death has left her family and the entire Nepali community heartbroken. We urge you to support Subee’s family and show solidarity during this difficult time. Even a small contribution will mean a great deal to her grieving family.”
A final tribute will be held at the Kaczorowski Funeral Home on Wednesday, December 11, at 11:30 AM, followed by her cremation at the Atlantic Cemetery Center.
