Nepal secured a thrilling victory over the United States in a Super Over during the second match of their three-game T20I series in Dallas on Saturday.
In the one-over eliminator, Nepal easily chased down the three-run target set by the US, clinching the series with a game to spare. The match had been forced into a Super Over after both teams finished tied at 170 runs.
Nepal, after opting to bat first, posted a solid total of 170-6. Kushal Bhurtel was the standout performer, smashing an unbeaten 92 off 54 balls, including seven boundaries and six sixes. Contributions from Anil Sah (25), Gulsan Jha (19), and Rohit Paudel (18) helped Nepal reach a competitive score.
The USA matched Nepal’s total of 170-8 in their 20 overs, with Andries Gous top-scoring for the home side with 62 off 43 balls, while Saiteja Mukkamalla added 47 off 41 balls. Despite their efforts, regular wickets stifled the chase. Nepal’s Karan KC led the bowling attack, taking 3-35, while Sompal Kami took two crucial wickets, including Gous and Aaron Jones.
Nepal had already gained momentum after winning the first T20I by 17 runs on Friday, with an all-round performance from Dipendra Singh Airee. The final match of the series will take place on Monday.
