U.S. News & World Report has included all public hospitals in New York City in its 2024-2025 list of the best hospitals in the USA. The NYC Health + Hospitals system is noted for its excellence in treating conditions such as heart failure, heart attack, hip fracture, kidney failure, diabetes, and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD).
Selected from nearly 5,000 hospitals across 15 specialties and 20 procedures and conditions, these hospitals received high scores based on clinical outcomes, standards of nursing care, and patient experience.
The recognized hospitals include Bellevue Hospital, Elmhurst Hospital, Harlem Hospital, Jacobi Hospital, Kings County Hospital, Lincoln Hospital, Metropolitan Hospital, South Brooklyn Health Hospital, Queens Hospital, and Woodhull Hospital. Bellevue Hospital is noted for the treatment of heart failure and heart attack, while Elmhurst Hospital is recognized for heart failure, heart attack, hip fracture, and kidney failure. Harlem Hospital is acknowledged for heart failure, and Jacobi Hospital is noted for heart failure, diabetes, and kidney failure.
Kings County Hospital is recognized for heart failure and kidney failure, and Lincoln Hospital is acknowledged for heart failure, COPD, and kidney failure. Metropolitan Hospital and South Brooklyn Health Hospital are both recognized for heart failure. Queens Hospital is noted for heart failure and diabetes, and Woodhull Hospital is recognized for COPD and diabetes.
