U.S. Deports 11 Convicted Nepali Nationals Over 18 Months, Including Seven for Sexual Abuse

A review of deportation records for Nepali nationals convicted of crimes in the United States shows that most cases involve convictions for sexual abuse offenses.

According to NepYork’s findings, which were based on Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) records obtained from the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), a total of 11 Nepali nationals were deported from the United States for various criminal convictions over a period of eighteen months.

Of these, seven individuals were deported after being convicted of sexual abuse crimes. Four of the seven were convicted of offenses involving minors. The record covers the period from February 27, 2024, to July 15, 2025. The ages of the deported individuals are listed as recorded at the time of deportation.

Details of Sexual Abuse Cases
A 36-year-old Nepali man charged with sexual assault on December 24, 2021, was convicted on April 14, 2024. An Immigration Court ordered his deportation on May 10, 2024, and he was deported to Nepal from New York’s John F. Kennedy International Airport (JFK) on June 27, 2024.

A 39-year-old Nepali man charged with sexual assault and physical abuse on October 11, 2023, was convicted on July 23, 2024. The Immigration Court issued a deportation order on April 24, 2025, and he was deported to Nepal from JFK on July 15, 2025.

A 36-year-old Nepali man convicted of sexual abuse was deported via Newark International Airport on March 6, 2025. He was charged on June 29, 2021, convicted on July 24, 2023, and received a deportation order on January 17, 2025. He had arrived in the U.S. on July 16, 2015, and was residing in Maryland.

A 30-year-old Nepali man was deported via Newark International Airport on February 27, 2024. He was charged on December 13, 2021, with sexual exploitation of a minor and displaying a minor in a sexual context, and was convicted on December 2, 2022. The Immigration Court ordered his deportation on November 9, 2023.

Another 30-year-old Nepali man was convicted on December 9, 2024, for using online chat to entice a minor for obscene purposes. He was charged on August 23, 2021, and later deported to Nepal from Virginia on June 3, 2025, following a deportation order issued on March 27, 2025. He had entered the U.S. on January 13, 2020, and was residing in Texas.

A 31-year-old Nepali man was deported via Newark International Airport on April 25, 2024. He had arrived in the U.S. on February 14, 2017, and was convicted on August 25, 2020, for enticing a minor for obscene purposes. The Immigration Court ordered his deportation on January 25, 2024.

Another 35-year-old Nepali man from Maryland was convicted of online sexual exploitation of a minor on November 24, 2024. He had been charged on May 30, 2024, and received a deportation order from the Immigration Court on February 12, 2025. ICE deported him from Arizona to Nepal on June 10, 2025.

Other Crime Cases
A 28-year-old Nepali man was convicted in May 2023 for robbery involving forced entry into a residence. The Immigration Court had initially ordered his deportation in 2020, but he remained in the U.S. and later committed the robbery. He was deported to Nepal from Arizona on June 10, 2025.

A 34-year-old Nepali man convicted of assault with a deadly weapon was deported to Nepal via Logan International Airport on April 29, 2025. He had arrived in the U.S. in 2014, was convicted of assault in 2023, and received a deportation order on February 13, 2025.

Another 34-year-old Nepali man was deported from New York to Nepal on January 7, 2025. He was charged with theft on March 31, 2024, convicted on May 26, 2024, and the Immigration Court ordered his deportation on October 1, 2024. He had been living in the United States since 2010.

A 37-year-old Nepali man who entered the U.S. on January 16, 2010, was convicted of driving under the influence (DUI) on March 29, 2011. The Immigration Court ordered his deportation on July 19, 2017, but he remained in the country. ICE records show that on February 3, 2025, he was deported from Texas to Qatar instead of Nepal.

Since the start of U.S. President Donald Trump’s second term on January 20, 2025, a total of 268 Nepali nationals (226 men and 42 women) have been deported through September 30. Crucially, the majority of these individuals were deported for immigration violations and do not have criminal records in the U.S.

The number of deported Nepali citizens saw a particularly significant increase in September 2025. According to the Immigration Office at Tribhuvan International Airport, 53 Nepali citizens—24 women and 29 men—were deported in September alone.

While the monthly figures in January, February, July, and August were comparatively low, the highest numbers of deportations occurred in May (58), June (42), and September (53). The monthly breakdown of deportations in 2025 shows a fluctuating but concerning rise: six in January, 18 in February, 32 in March, 26 in April, 58 in May, 42 in June, 17 in July, 16 in August, and 53 in September.
