Are you ready to watch the fireworks in New York on Thursday, July 4? This year, the fireworks are returning to the Hudson River side of Manhattan. The fireworks will be launched from barges along the Hudson River and will be visible not only from Manhattan, between West 14th and West 34th, but also from New Jersey.
This year’s display promises an inspiring spectacle of patriotic color, light, and sound from the Hudson River for the first time in over a decade. Following last year’s groundbreaking drone show, the team has worked hard to develop new ways to surprise and delight audiences. New Jersey will again enjoy front-row views of the fireworks.
For the first time in years, Macy’s 4th of July fireworks will also light up the New Jersey sky over the Hudson River. The annual fireworks display has been a New York City tradition since 1976.
How to Watch:
New York Mayor Eric Adams has provided 10,000 free tickets for the fireworks. Ticket holders can view the display from Hudson River Park Pier 45 or Pier 84. The tickets were distributed on June 26 and June 27 and sold out within an hour.
For ticket holders, entry will start at 6 pm, and the fireworks will begin at 9:25 pm. Water stations will be available, so please bring a clear, reusable water bottle to fill up.
Prohibited items include alcohol, backpacks, drones, duffel bags, e-cigarettes, glass containers, hover cameras, illegal substances, large bags, large/hard-sided coolers, large packages, lawn chairs, motorized scooters or vehicles, picnic blankets, smoking, skateboards, tents, umbrellas, and weapons. Failure to follow instructions from NYPD, the City of New York, the Mayor’s Office Staff, or any other NYC Official will result in denial of entry or removal from the site.
Those without tickets can still enjoy the fireworks from the West Side Highway, which offers spectacular views as you celebrate America’s birthday! Public access points for viewing the fireworks include Christopher Street and Washington Street, West 11th Street and Washington Street, West 12th Street and Washington Street, West 29th Street and 11th Avenue, and West 40th Street and 11th Avenue.
ADA accessible access points are available at Christopher Street and Washington Street and West 41st Street and 11th Avenue. All spectators will be screened as they enter the viewing area.
