Meta, the company that owns Facebook, Instagram, Messenger, Threads and other social media applications, is experiencing widespread outages. Many users are reporting that they are being logged out of their accounts or are unable to access the applications at all.

Meta has acknowledged the problem and is investigating the cause. The company says that it is experiencing disruptions affecting its workplace, but it is not yet clear if this is related to the outages that users are experiencing.
The outage appears to be affecting millions of users around the world. According to Downdetector, a website that tracks outages, more than 5.5 million users have reported outages on Facebook. Additionally, more than 71,000 users have reported outages on Instagram, and more than 10,000 users have reported outages on Messenger.
The outage began shortly after 10 a.m. EST on Tuesday, March 5th, 2024. It is not yet known when the outage will be resolved.
