Biden Stresses Climate Emergency and Defends Ukraine's Sovereignty in UN Speech

Turning to the ongoing conflict in Ukraine, President Biden condemned Russia’s aggression and expressed concerns about the potential consequences of appeasing an aggressor. He questioned whether member states could feel confident in their protection if the core principles of the UN Charter were abandoned to appease aggressors, highlighting the importance of upholding the sovereignty and territorial integrity of nations. He declared, “We must stand up to this naked aggression today to deter other would-be aggressors tomorrow.”
