USCIS Announces Change in Filing Location for U Nonimmigrant-Based Form I-485

U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) has announced that U nonimmigrants applying to become lawful permanent residents must now file Form I-485, Application to Register Permanent Residence or Adjust Status, only at the Nebraska Service Center and not at the Vermont Service Center.

The filing address has been updated on the Direct Filing Addresses for Form I-485 page. Applications filed at the Vermont Service Center must be postmarked on or before April 12, 2023. After that date, any application filed at the Vermont Service Center will be rejected and returned to the safe address, preferred address or attorney/accredited representative’s address if listed on an accompanying Form G-28.

For U.S. Postal Service (USPS) deliveries, USCIS Nebraska Service Center can be reached at P.O. Box 87426 Lincoln, NE 68501-7526. For FedEx, UPS and DHL deliveries: USCIS P.O. Box 87426 Lincoln, NE 68501-7526.
