The Greater New York Nepali Chamber of Commerce has launched the Nepali American Business and Investment Summit (NABIS) 2026, a three-day international event aimed at strengthening economic cooperation, trade, investment, innovation and entrepreneurship between Nepal and the United States.
Scheduled for Sept. 25–27, 2026, at the New York JFK Marriott, the summit will be held under the theme “Connecting Capital, Ideas and Opportunities.” It will bring together government officials, business executives, investors, entrepreneurs, policymakers and members of the global Nepali diaspora to foster cross-border collaboration and long-term economic partnerships.
Speaking at the launch, chamber President Pradip Shrestha said NABIS is more than a business conference and reflects a broader mission to connect people, resources and ideas between Nepal and the United States.
“NABIS is more than a conference. It is a platform to connect ideas, capital and people committed to building stronger economic ties between Nepal and the United States,” Shrestha said.
He said Nepal offers significant investment potential in sectors including tourism, hydropower, information technology, agriculture, infrastructure, manufacturing and startups. He also highlighted the role of the Nepali diaspora in the United States, noting that thousands of Nepali-origin entrepreneurs, investors and professionals have built successful enterprises and developed global networks.
Shrestha said NABIS aims to bridge these opportunities by connecting Nepal’s investment potential with the expertise, capital and resources of the Nepali American community. The summit will focus on practical outcomes, where ideas translate into businesses, discussions lead to partnerships and commitments result in investment.
He added that NABIS 2026 is also focused on supporting Nepali-owned businesses across the United States. Nepali entrepreneurs from New York to California, Texas to Illinois, and Florida to Washington have established businesses in industries such as hospitality, health care, technology, real estate, construction, financial services, retail, education and transportation.
“The summit is not only about bringing investment to Nepal. It is also about strengthening the Nepali American business community in the United States,” Shrestha said, noting that strong local businesses contribute to stronger communities.
The summit will feature four key discussion tracks: Nepal’s investment opportunities; international trade and capital partnerships; technology and artificial intelligence; and strategies for scaling businesses from local markets to global platforms.
The event will include keynote addresses, panel discussions with government and business leaders, a startup showcase and product launch, investor networking sessions, business matchmaking, strategic partnership meetings, and a gala dinner and recognition program.
During the launch, organizers unveiled the official NABIS 2026 website and opened registration. Applications are now open for startups and entrepreneurs interested in participating in the startup showcase and product launch. Opportunities are also available for sponsors, exhibitors and strategic partners.
Organizers said the timing of the summit coincides with the United Nations General Assembly high-level week and Climate Week NYC, offering additional opportunities to engage with global leaders, policymakers and investors.
NABIS 2026 is organized by the Greater New York Nepali Chamber of Commerce with support from the Consulate General of Nepal in New York. Khasokhas is the media partner.
The chamber said additional details, including confirmed speakers, partners and the full agenda, will be announced in the coming weeks.
