A Nepal-themed stall drew strong attention at the United Nations’ annual International Bazaar, where countries showcased cultural diversity through traditional products, food and performances.

Held at the U.N. Visitors Plaza from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., the event featured displays from around the world, highlighting cultural heritage and craftsmanship. The bazaar, launched in 2013, has become a key annual tradition within the U.N. community.

Organized by the United Nations Delegations Spouses Club, the event brought together diplomats, staff and members of the international community. Participating countries presented traditional foods, handicrafts and cultural exhibits, along with live music and performances that added to the festive atmosphere.
Nepal’s stall, which participated this year, showcased Nepali products and promotional materials representing the country’s identity.

According to Dadhiram Bhandari, Nepal’s Consul General in New York, this marked the first time Nepali goods and promotional items were formally included in the bazaar. He said there are plans to expand Nepal’s participation by adding traditional Nepali cuisine in future editions.

The Nepali stall attracted significant interest from visitors, offering an opportunity to promote Nepal’s cultural heritage and products to an international audience, organizers and participants said.
Beyond cultural exchange, the International Bazaar also serves a humanitarian purpose. Proceeds from this year’s event will support crisis-affected communities worldwide through the U.N. Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs.

Organizers said the event, which celebrates diversity and unity, continues to strengthen understanding and cooperation among cultures.
