The annual Nepal Day Parade returned to Manhattan on Sunday, drawing more than 40 organizations to celebrate its 10th anniversary with a vibrant display of culture, unity, and identity.
Organizers described this year’s parade as one of its largest to date, drawing participants from across the diaspora to temporarily transform parts of the city into a “miniature Nepal.” The milestone celebration highlighted a decade-long effort to promote Nepali heritage and tourism on a global stage.
The parade kicked off at 38th Street and Madison Avenue, proceeding down to 24th and 25th streets, where a central stage hosted cultural performances. A wide range of traditional Jhalkis showcased Nepal’s ethnic diversity.
The festivities, which also saw strong participation from second-generation Nepali Americans, included a cultural program that continued into the evening.
