Three Nepalis Missing in Nebraska, Texas, and New York; Embassy Appeals for Public Help

The Embassy of Nepal in Washington, D.C., has appealed for public assistance in locating two Nepali nationals reported missing in the United States, while a separate family has also issued an urgent request to help locate a third individual.

In a statement, the embassy said it has received information from relatives of the missing individuals and has coordinated with local law enforcement agencies in the respective areas. It also urged Nepali community organizations and members of the diaspora to assist in ongoing search efforts.

One of the missing individuals, Pawan Gaire, 29, was last known to be traveling from Nebraska to Florida in March 2026. Gaire, who completed a PhD in electrical engineering from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln in May 2025, has been out of contact since then. His vehicle was found at Pensacola Beach, Florida, on March 27, 2026.

Authorities in Nebraska are involved in the search. Anyone with information is asked to contact the Lincoln Police Department at 402-411-6000 or the Nebraska Missing Persons Clearinghouse at 1-877-441-5678.

The second individual, Bikash Neupane, 26, was last seen in Arlington, Texas. He had been enrolled at the University of Texas at Arlington since Aug. 4, 2021, and has been out of contact with his family for approximately two years.

Separately, the family of Keshav Karki has issued an urgent appeal to help locate him in the New York area, saying his mother is in critical condition in an intensive care unit and they need to reach him immediately.

The family said they have lost contact with Karki and urged anyone with information about his whereabouts to contact them via WhatsApp at +977-986-2675213.
