Nepali Cybersecurity Expert Bibek Subedi and Recent Immigrant Suresh KC Killed in Virginia Accident; Driver Faces Manslaughter Charge

In an early Friday morning accident in Chantilly, Virginia, two young men from Nepal—Suresh KC from Rukum and Bibek Subedi from Bardiya—tragically lost their lives. Two others, including the driver, were injured.

Suresh KC was reported to be from Athbiskot, Rukum West, and had recently arrived in the United States. Bibek Subedi was a cybersecurity researcher and ethical hacker. He had been working as a cybersecurity analyst at the Cisco Networking Academy in the United States for the past two years.

The Loudoun County Sheriff’s Office (LCSO) continues to investigate the fatal single-vehicle crash, which occurred around 12:30 a.m. in South Riding, near the intersection of Loudoun County Parkway and Tall Cedars Parkway.

Deputies responding to the crash found a damaged 2023 Ford Mustang on eastbound Tall Cedars Parkway. The single-vehicle accident resulted in the deaths of two occupants and injuries to two others.

Suresh KC, a recent immigrant from Nepal, was one of the victims in the tragic Virginia car accident. Originally from Athbiskot, Rukum West, Suresh had only recently arrived in the United States.

Initially, the three passengers were identified as two males and one female, but this was corrected to three male passengers, along with a male driver, according to an LCSO statement.

The driver, identified as 30-year-old Bijay Tamang from Aldie, has been taken into custody. Authorities reported that Tamang was under the influence of alcohol at the time of the accident.

Bijay Tamang, 30, the driver involved in the fatal Virginia crash, has been charged with involuntary manslaughter and is being held without bond. Authorities report that alcohol was a factor in the accident.

He has been charged with involuntary manslaughter and is currently being held without bond at the Loudoun County Adult Detention Center. Additional charges are pending as the investigation continues.
