The Embassy of Nepal in Canada successfully held a two-day mobile consular and passport service camp in Edmonton, Alberta, on May 18 and 19, 2024. This initiative is part of a series of mobile camps launched by the Embassy to provide easier access to consular services for Nepali nationals living in different provinces across Canada.
The Edmonton camp catered to residents of the city and surrounding areas, offering services such as passport application, power of attorney processing, and other consular assistance. More than 300 people benefited from the camp.
“Mr. Bharat Raj Paudyal, Ambassador of Nepal to Canada, commended the cooperation of Nepali diaspora community organizations, including the Non-Resident Nepali Association, Nepalese Canadian Society of Edmonton, and volunteers, who played a crucial role in the camp’s success,” the Embassy noted in a press release.

Representatives of the diaspora organizations and service seekers applauded the Embassy’s effort to decentralize services in Canada’s vast geography. This initiative significantly reduces travel time and cost for those seeking consular assistance.
In the future, the Embassy plans to organize similar mobile consular service camps in Halifax, Vancouver, and Calgary in June and July 2024. Earlier the Embassy had held a similar mobile camp in Mississauga, Toronto aimed at the service seekers in the greater Toronto region.
