Embassy Invites Canadians to Experience Nepal’s Wonders

The Embassy of Nepal in Canada held a tourism promotion event in Edmonton, Alberta, on May 17th, 2024, to highlight Nepal’s unique offerings for Canadian travelers.

Nepal’s Ambassador to Canada, H.E. Mr. Bharat Raj Paudyal, addressed the event, emphasizing the country’s rich cultural heritage, breathtaking natural beauty, and the warm hospitality of its people. He positioned Nepal as a premium destination for those seeking a unique blend of cultural exploration, adventure, and spiritual renewal. Ambassador Paudyal encouraged travel agencies and tour operators to include Nepal in their packages, offering Canadians a memorable travel experience.



“Nepal provides a premium destination for those who want to enjoy a uniquely different culture and nature which has in recent years received added traction for both spiritual and physical wellbeing,” Ambassador Paudyal said. “Nepal is attractive to people from all age group who love nature, adventure, culture, health and spiritual wellbeing.”

He also encouraged the Canadian guests and leaders of Nepali diaspora community to take friends on a visit to Nepal. He provided succinct outline on why Nepal makes a must visit destination for the travel lovers from all parts of the world, including Canada and appraised the participating travel agents, news reporters and travel bloggers to promote Nepal as a major tourism destination.

The event garnered support from local dignitaries. Alberta’s Chief Whip, Parliamentary Secretary for Economic Corridor Development, and Member of Legislative Assembly, Hon. Shane Getson, and Edmonton Mayor His Worship Amarjeet Sohi, commended the Embassy’s initiative. They acknowledged the potential for collaboration between Nepal and Edmonton in promoting tourism and encouraged Edmontonians to consider Nepal for their future travels.

“The Chief Whip of Alberta Provincial Government, Parliamentary Secretary for Economic Corridor Development and Member of Legislative Parliament Shane Getson and the Mayor of Edmonton city, His Worship Amarjeet Sohi commended the Embassy for hosting the event to promote Nepal in the most appropriate part of Canada where people love outing and travel,” the press release stated. “Both of them underlined the potential of collaboration for tourism promotion between Nepal and Edmonton city of Canada. They also encouraged the participants to visit Nepal with the family.”

Mountaineer Mr. Roop Chakraworti shared his firsthand experiences in Nepal, praising the country’s beauty and the graciousness of its people. President of the National Nepali Canadian Association (NRNA Canada), Mr. Madhav Dulal, also addressed the audience, urging the Nepali diaspora community to contribute to promoting Nepal as a tourist destination in Canada.

The event featured a comprehensive presentation on Nepal’s diverse tourist attractions. Attendees were treated to captivating videos showcasing Nepal’s landscapes, along with samplings of Nepalese tea and coffee. Displays of exportable products like tea, coffee, pashmina shawls, handicrafts, and artistic creations further enriched the cultural experience. The event culminated in a vibrant performance by Nepali artists.

Representatives from travel agencies, tour wholesalers, and media outlets attended the event, alongside members of the NRNA Canada, local Nepali community organizations, and regional tourism promoters. The Nepal Embassy in Canada’s initiative is a positive step towards strengthening Nepal’s position as a desirable travel destination for Canadians.
