Most family-based green card categories saw significant forward movement in the April 2026 Visa Bulletin, particularly for applicants inside the United States.
The filing date for F2A (spouses and unmarried children under 21 of green card holders) became “current” in April, up from Feb. 22, 2026, in March. This allows applicants in that category to file adjustment applications regardless of their priority date.
For F1 (U.S. citizens’ unmarried sons and daughters 21+), the filing date advanced from Sept. 1, 2017, in March to March 1, 2018, in April with priority maintained. F2B (unmarried sons and daughters 21+ of green card holders) moved from March 15, 2017, to Aug. 8, 2017; F3 (married sons and daughters of U.S. citizens) from July 22, 2012, to Nov. 22, 2012; and F4 (siblings of U.S. citizens) from March 1, 2009, to May 15, 2009.
Visa interviews or green card issuance dates also improved in most categories. F1 advanced from Nov. 8, 2016 (March) to May 1, 2017 (April). F2B moved from Dec. 1, 2016, to May 22, 2017; F3 from Sept. 8, 2011, to Dec. 22, 2011; F4 from Jan. 8, 2008, to June 8, 2008.
F2A’s final action date remained Feb. 1, 2024, in both months. Advances stem from reduced visa issuance for certain countries due to administrative actions and national security interests, reallocating numbers — though dates could retrogress if demand rises.
Since Jan. 21, the State Department suspended immigrant visas for Nepal and 74 other countries, halting issuance post-processing. Pre-Jan. 21 visa holders face no entry restrictions.
