It’s not only Swoopna Suman’s U.S. debut performance, but also the inaugural event by Yak NYC Productions. Additionally, it marks the first time the Himalayan Yak Restaurant has ever hosted a live music concert.

Over the past two decades, Himalayan Yak has served as more than just a culinary haven. They’ve played a crucial role in bridging cultural crossroads, enriching the community by bringing the best of Nepal to our tables. Their commitment extends beyond delicious food. This beloved establishment in the community is commemorating its 20th anniversary.

In the challenging times of the pandemic, Himalayan Yak Restaurant displayed immense heart by providing free meals to courageous frontline workers at Elmhurst Hospital. They understand the sacrifices made by these heroes and expressed their gratitude through this act of kindness.

The Himalayan Yak Restaurant’s dedication to community goes far beyond meals. They recently hosted a significant event in collaboration with CHHAYA CDC, the “Merchants Round Table,” featuring the esteemed presence of SBS Commissioner Kevin D Kim. This gathering brought together influential elected members from New York alongside small business owners from the Nepali, Tibetan, and Bhutanese communities. It served as a platform for diverse voices to be heard and fostered meaningful connections.

They take pride in creating a space that not only celebrates culinary diversity but also fosters cultural and spiritual connections. They’ve hosted esteemed religious leaders and renowned chefs, providing a unique opportunity for patrons to engage in meaningful conversations and cultural exchanges.

The Himalayan Yak Restaurant is a true cultural nexus. Over the years, they’ve had the distinct honor of hosting events graced by elected members of the Nepali Government, talented artists, musicians, and distinguished figures from neighboring communities. These gatherings have not only showcased the rich tapestry of Himalayan cultures but have also provided a platform for cultural exchange and a sense of unity.
