Famous Nepali singer, songwriter, and guitarist Swoopna Suman is bringing his talents to New York City for his first-ever U.S. performance. He’ll be performing live in New York City on Saturday, March 16th, 2024.
Suman is known for his captivating blend of contemporary and traditional Nepali music. He’s a rising star in Nepal and has garnered a dedicated fanbase worldwide. This is your chance to witness his electrifying live show for the first time in the United States.
The concert will be held at the Melrose Ballroom in Queens, New York starting at 9:00 pm EST. Tickets are available for purchase online and range from $70 for general admission to $100 for VIP access. There’s also an option to buy general admission tickets at the door for $80.
Suman’s musical journey began in 2012 with homemade videos uploaded to YouTube, catching the eye of Karma Records. His debut official song, “K Saro Ramri Bhako,” was released through the label in 2014. He later joined Arbitrary Productions in 2016, churning out several hit singles like “Kunai Din,” “Kasari Bhanu,” “Ma Timro,” and “Kurera Baschu.”
Currently working independently, Suman performs live extensively in Nepal and internationally. His captivating blend of contemporary and traditional Nepali music has garnered him a massive fanbase not just in his home country but around the world. His popularity skyrocketed in 2023 with the release of the song “Je Chhau Timi” featuring Samir Shrestha.
The concert is presented by Yak NYC Productions, a new venture launched by the renowned Himalayan Yak Restaurant in Jackson Heights, New York. This year marks the restaurant’s 20th anniversary.
It’s not only Swoopna Suman’s U.S. debut performance, but also the inaugural event by Yak NYC Productions. Additionally, it marks the first time the Himalayan Yak Restaurant has ever hosted a live music concert.
